(http://assets.cgsociety.org/nvart/1204590929/1024bound)The idea was to paint an architectural concept still unresolved and in the process of becoming. I wanted the architecture to be set in an industrial landscape rather than a natural one. The composition draws inspiration from Hugh Ferriss of whom I am a huge fan. The design itself is of a new Cyclorama being built in the 60's (when I was born) for a fictional worlds fair. I used the added black border to title the image and give it a more nostalgic feel.

... bravo on another fabulous piece.
I am inspired to pursue 3D modelling further.
Your work has set quite a lofty standard to aim for.
Quite daunting ...
But at the same time, very inspiring.
Admittedly & unabashedly ...
I am a huge fan.
Again, well done!

Great pic, and an impressive architecture, the rendering is good, only one crit the sphere at the foreground is a little deformed by perspective

Hey All thanks for the feedback.
ikeetek- I appreciate it.

Yeah I guess the sphere is deformed and it may be due to the verticle camera I was using to keep all the verticles plumb. Not sure if I mind the distortion but now that you mention it I will have to give it some thought, thanks.

Lyngby: thanks, I have always bee a big fan of natural media and I tend to paint that way which is a bit different--- again thanks!

Cheers,
D

Hey Thanks for the reply. I wish you could better see the workers in the scaffolding with the welding torches. The blue dots by the suspended girder are where they reside. Anyway some of the small details are hard to find but I hope the overall image has a good sense of density and detail...
Good luck to everyone, some great work.
Cheers,
D

I very like the mix of media and the unresolved inspiration like European parliament. very nice...
