View Full Version : Unique character model request for DirectX app

I made a DirectX graphics project for school, and now I'd like to turn it into a humorous application. I need a 3d model, though, because I don't have enough skill to do it myself :) The glory of the finished app will be your reward, I can assure you.

The project has HDR, variance shadow mapping, parallax bump mapping, and a lovely little screen-space blob technique. The project loads .X files. For simplicity, a single texture should be used for each channel (a single set of UV coords), but multiple channels would be great (diffuse, surface normals, specular).

I've never made a model request before, so if anyone wants more info, lemme know. Thanks!

You might get a few more responses if you let people know what kind of model you need and what this humouros app is all about.

No problem! I had to be sure my post would get through (for some reason the first time I posted it didn't work).

My application can simulate a blobby fountain of water with pretty reflection and refraction. It resembles the internet horror photo of 'tubgirl', and I'd like to make a 3D tubgirl demo. So, I need a tubgirl model, and preferably a surrounding environment! My app will certainly only be found 'humorous' by a few individuals, so if you are offended, just don't post. So, anyone interested in this honorable endeavor? Thanks!

I believe first posts are monitored for spam, that's why you couldnt see it right away.

It's usually a good idea to show pictures of what you have in mind...tubgirl model doesnt make any sense to me

Just one question...are you remaking the whole 'tub girl' scene? Umm....why? Thats pretty gross and really graphic. Just asking.

You are correct; this is not a task for the faint of stomach! Those who have seen it before are most likely to be able to handle it. I'm desensitized for the most part, due to numerous pranks I've been on both ends of. On the lighter side, an animated scene won't be as graphic, or, striking, as the original, thank goodness.

Tubgirl is one of those horrific/disgusting photos you may come across while using the internet. If you haven't seen Tubgirl yet, you probably want to leave it that way!

My personal niche is particle effects, so I'll put together a little demo. Should be fun.

I'm almost done with the particle effect demo. I'll post a video shortly.

Here's my first attempt (http://neffwashere.com/tb.avi) at getting the particles right. I think it looks pretty good. Now if only you can get someone to make a decent human body!

That gets a hearty LOL! I share your enthusiasm for particle effects, but I'm going to do that in real-time with my interactive application. I DO need a tubgirl model, and you do.. have a start there.. lol. Thanks for showing interest though! I still need a model, so tell your friends! Thanks all!
