I've been checking the stickies but haven't found much information on character workflow. I'm reintroducing myself to 3d as I've been out of it for quite some time, and I need tips on workflow like blocking. Walk cycles have never been a problem, but having a character move around in the scene is trickier-

any tips for blocking? Or, for that matter, a surefire method for making the feet really look like they're hitting/standing on a plane?

Thanks.

hey there,

I'd recommend going to www.keithlango.com. in the tutorials section read "Pose to Pose - Pop Through Animation".
Once you've finished that, on the same website read "Life After Pose to Pose: Taking it to the Next Level". This second one is important as it explains the importance of organising your animation without offsetting keyframes in your dopesheet.

That should get you going :)
