I would also like to see a render, the wire frame looks ok but it's hard to judge.

Can't wait to actually get to drive one of these.

its looking good...:)
but i would suggest to split the polys with more than 4 points...as i can see that the fender and the hood has a few....
this will help on ur render time a bit.
its looking good so far :wip:

actually modelling the tire grooves (correct word?) instead of using a displacement map looks far better imho

theres a tut on how-to on the suurland site.

hello fellows,

another few hours of work...and heres the update..
I am still working on the shaders and stuff...

hey stimpy , ur right...i still am trying to model the tyre with grooves instead of bump maps.....I know how to do it...but getting the first patch of the tyre with grooves in it is kinda tricky....once i get it...i`ll replace this ...

anyways...heres a test render...throw in all C&C...i wana make all the changes to make this loook good before i put it in the finished gallery....

looking really nice so far, but what about an environment?

Well, looking at it over and over,

the carpaint doesn't look so real...

Maybe because you don't have the decent background as yet, dunno

I think the camera angle is a bit to much, looks like the car is about to flip over!
Else GREAT work

hmm...I dont know what elese i could do to make the car paint look more real.

as for environment...I dont think i`ll compisite...i want the flat background...with dynamic angles...

i will post large renders soon...coz i dont know what else to add in there...

the front tire looks funny to me, not the modeling...gut it looks like this sticking our way too far...the way its turned...its like its pivot point it the outer edge of the body instead of inside on the axel...

here is what i mean, see how you cant even see the top of the tire?

looks to me like you have simply rotated the wheel on the same spot from the very centre of the wheel..whereas with a real car the wheel moves in a slight arc, moving it further under the guard etc.

Try moving the pivot point from the very cente of the tyre to the middle inside edge.

At least I think thats right.
