View Full Version : Flint-Gun
randyrives 05-05-2003, 02:52 AM This is a flint gun of my own design. It is not based on a real gun, and probably would not work if reproduced.
The scene is not based on any real historical moment, just didn't want to post the gun by itself.
All modeling and textures were done in Cinema 4D.http://www.rrives.com/c4d8/flint_gun_wip5_web.jpg

pretty sweet dude. its good to see a fellow C4Der in here.
hate to say it but the feather is the part i like the most.
Where are the cast shadows?
It looks like everything is floating.
The composition could use a little more work.
Everything is going in the same direction even the grain of the wood.(except the paper).
The elements in the scene look cool though.

ok i love it, but there are questions i have
do you think it would look better with just a little longer barrel?
and
is the feather a model from somewhere else or did u make it too?

JIII - Thanks! Yeah the feather seems to be the big hit in the image.
Rey - Good eye the lighting really needs to be redone. I will jumble everything around a little more.
RageCage - Thanks! The more I look at the paper the less I like it also. But I don't know if I will change it at this point.
Time will tell.
bgreg03 - Thanks for the suggestion on the barrell. The feather was done by me. I have a Blue & Gold McCaw parrot, that I took a feather and scanned it. Made color, bump and alpha images and applied them to a plane. By the way the feather was one that was lost during a molt, I did not pluck it from the bird

Ok sense I did not pay any attention to the lighting of my last attempt, here is an update with better lighting.
I also moved things around a little to try and get a better composition.
Let me know what ya'll think.
