View Full Version : camera with connections excluding lights
magilla 05-05-2003, 01:28 AM When I place my camera in a hierarchy or constrain it to another object. I have the problem of certain lights being excluded from the render!
Anyone else get this problem?
--btw - using Maya 4.01 native render on win2000.
the light being excluded has fog but I don't think that's what is causing it.

Hi,
Do your lights have decay??
Maya has a bug (or a huge limitation) concerning cams and decay lights.
You have to boost (or reduce) the decay lights's intensities to see them after a scale (deoending the scale you perform on the cam's group)
Hope it's clear

you are most likely correct - both the light and the camera were scaled. The light also has a linear decay.
I always scale lights and cameras - because if you don't you can't see them (the visual representation of them - not their effect) to move them around.
Although at first I thought the fog wasn't the culprit - it seems to render fine without it.
