I've recently updated my showreel..all handkeyed.

Hey Jon!

Great to see your reel...I've always enjoyed your work, and those gorilla animations have been a great inspiration to me for many years (some of the first stuff I saw when I started getting deeper into character animation). Keep it up!

The only shot I thought was a little week was the one with the guy swatting the fly...I think many of the movements are a little stiff...probably because the guy's limbs are so short, and they don't stretch--even while he's doing some very "large" motions.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Tyson, I agree the swat anim is the weakest piece and it'll be dropped as soon as I can replace it with something new.
I'm planning a new cartoony piece to replace it using a little character I've created, it will also feature your roboball too!

Wow, i am very impressed with your physical stuff! Nice reel. I agree with the fly swatting comment though.

Looking good Jonny Boy!

Hadn't seen the Little Britain stuff before - Really like those 2 loops - especially the cycle ride ride one.

I agree with the comments above though, I'd ditch the 'fly swatting' anim - Looks quite dated now against a lot of your newer stuff. I'd take it out regardless of having a replacement anim - the reel length would be fine without it.

Loved your reel, Jon. Your over presentation and pacing was well done. All in all an entertaining reel to watch. My favorites were the skateboarding bits. Also love the fact that you used characters made of blocks and simple environments. Really helps to show off the animation and doesn't detract from what you're really trying to show to your audience.
