This character is ment to be a Taekwondoka.

Because of the high kicks in this kind of art, I constructed the end of his jacket as a kind of belt, fixed with a belt-tag to the upper part of the jacket.
So the end is pulled by the hips and moves quiet well in all directions, flowing like a flag in the wind.
I gave the trousers a collision-tag to avoid collisions with the end of the jacket. But this does not work at all.
No idea what there is wrong with the tag.

Anybody to help me?

Hi,

you are using C4D R10.5, right ?? Because in R10.5 there is a known bug within the cloth-collision (this bug is known since a couple of months, but no updates from MAXON yet). You can read posts about this bug (and perhaps also about possible solutions) here:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=47&t=587029&highlight=10.5+cloth+bug
and also in the german forum "C4D-Treff":
http://www.cgnetwork.de/forum/showthread.php?t=93071

I tried your file in 10.1 and in 10.5 (only the 10.5 demo, because I have only version 10.1). Everything works fine in 10.1, but in 10.5 I have the same problem you mentioned. Furthermore I think that there is nothing wrong with your tags, that looks good.

I played around a little bit with your file. So possible solutions could be (I have no idea why this works this way):
- Move everything out of the null-object "Character" an place it directly under the null-object "Otto-Setup". You can delete the null-object "Character" afterwards.
- It works also if you move the null-object "Character" (containing all objects) out of the Hyper-Nurbs "Otto-Setup".

Perhaps there are more possible solutions for this problem. So try to move the objects in the hierarchy upwards, downwards etc. or perhaps delete the tags and renew it.
If nothing helps, I worry you have to downgrade to R10.1 :-(

I hope this helps a litte bit.

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks a lot!!!

Yes I have v. 10.5.

But as you told me I put the whole mesh out of the 0-object directly into the hypernurps, dragged the mesh with the collision-tag up under the skinobject (second place under the hypernurps), deleted the collisiontag and gave the mesh a new one.
Voila - this works plenty!

Really nice! Thank you!

Oh snap!

I was supposed to end a project on Wednesday with Clothilde, but seeing this post forces me to call some non-C4D collegues to finish my work :(
I always thought that Maxon worked as quickly as possible to remove bugs that make using the application impossible. Sure, fix minor bugs in a modeling tool in the next update, but hey come on! if a module fails to work, a bugfix oughta be downloadable like the next day.

This is ridicilous, cant use Cloth till the next $$$-upgrade:(
What if the Advanced Render in 10.5 failed to render Area lights? No bugfix before the next annual upgrade?

Does it work as you'd expect if you put the collider tag on the Hypernurbs? Seems to work here.

Good luck

I had the same problem, and I think too that maxon is a lil slow with its bugs fixes. I had to go back to 10.1.1 to work! Cost me some production time too!

Is it really a bug?

Think it is a problem with tje hierarchy.
If the mesh with collision-tag is the first one in the line, after the skin object, it works fine.
Well - this is a scene with, at current time, only one collision-tag.
I will see what will happen when I fix a blackbelt at the hips of the character.

Didn't figure out right now whether the solution with the collisiontag on the hypernurbs works as well. I will try later.

Another thing:
I once used motioncapture fbx files with C4D v. 9.5.
Tried to use them in v.10. Did not work at all.
The support at maxon told me this is not possible with v. 10.
Is this correct? I thought I read somewhere something about guys discuss about mc fbx -

Yes, I think that this is a bug (or even you can call it a bug), because everything works fine in R10.1 and the same thing doesn't work in R10.5. And for me there is no reason why this should be a problem with the hierarchy of the objects, this doesn't make sense.

By the way. I have no idea about your fbx-problem.

Richard

What ever - I sent the same questions to maxon last week but didn't get response till yet.
Usually they are pretty quick.

.. and what did they reply? That it is a broken feature in 10.5, any mention of update?

Even though it was no hi-tech character animation they asked me to do, just a "towels lying and flying everywhere"-concept, it would have been impossible to finish if there are issues with collisions.. en expensive bug to me :/
