So this is a character I am working on for my demo reel. He's this office worker/rambo type of character hence his tie bandana. Anyhow this is what I have done so far. I did a high poly version of him in zbrush (which I'll show soon) and this is the low poly version of him. So it's normal mapped for the whole body. So far I've only finished up diffuse, ambient occlusion, and specular maps for the head, I am working on the rest of them and planning to be done soon. Anyhow any critiques would be awesome.

Lookin pretty good. One thing that worries be is his edge flow. If you don't plan on animating him that is fine, but the hip/waste area would give you hell when you try to deform it. I'm looking foward to seeing the rest of him textured so keep it up.

good start.

the arm proportions feel a little off, -the elbow should move higher, and the hands need to be 3/4 the length of the head.

Thanks for the replies you guys. I definitely felt the hands were kinda weird to me as well. As for the edge flow near the hips and where the shirt overlaps I also felt it was an awkard area but I couldn't think of an easier flow for it. I plan on reworking him in a few weeks when I get a break from school. Anyhow here are a quick update with the texturing and some old zbrush screens.

Nice idea. Think it would be cool to dirty him up add blood, open wounds, rips in clothes etc. Just watch die hard for inspiration

One other thing his hair looks awkward where it meet the bandanna. I think you should make it hang over it instead of spike up.

So I reworked the head a little bit. I didn't like so much before but I think it's looking pretty good now he's more angry looking. I am gonna go in a add a bloody cut on the side of his face. I think that will look cool.

I redid the body a bit made him skinnier because the body was a little too bit. But I have not finished with those to show yet.

So a bit more of an update. I fixed the hand size, scaled the body so that he is thinner. I redid the geometry for the shirt so it's a lot lower tris. I also redid some textures real quick just to see what it looks like thus far. So the following images are the model in maya's viewport high quality rendering. The materials I did so far are the diffuse, normals and Ambient. I need to do some specs and then play around with the settings to get some results I'll like.

Just a note I haven't textured the belt area yet. Just been busy get the main areas worked on.

And once again critiques would definitely be awesome to help me out.
