I'd just like to say good luck to everyone that enters, can't wait to see what CGS members come up with..

Anyway heres my entry, all i have to show at the mo are these rough concepts.
Initially i wanted to go for something that was demonic but kind of quickly changed my mind.
The angle im going for is a warrior ( warlord class ) The last 2 sketches show the direction that i intend to go.
I thought it would be a good idea to do a giant insect/humanoid alien. Im taking elements from insects like bees/wasps. I want the character to be slender and simple looking but still have a sence of power.

They kind of have a Death Note, General Grevous thing going on.

I really like the big colored concept in the middle. Maybe if you could mix in some special effect like fire or ice could be cool.

This seems like a really imaginative character. I can't wait to see your new concept of it. I like the heads in the center. The mouths look fantastic.

Looking good bro, I love the final black & white silhouette. Should be really interesting to see it in 3D. :)

Neat design so far. He's got a pretty distinctive silhouette. Given how large his feet are, his hands look like they should also be larger.

and also, i have to be honest, I am not a big fin of the coloring. They're quite intense, both the purple and the red, and they wallop the eyes and make him look overly cartoony. Sure, some bugs like butterflies and dragonflies have some really intence se colors, but they are balanced by lesser amounts of more natural hues. I think it would be interesting to see this guy with some more subdued insect-like earth-tones. It could really help him look like he were a more real, believable character. Anyhow, that's just my opinion.
