Re: Boris.

Ahhh...RealSoft3D 4.5...I learn't the software with the downloadable demo. If I weren't buying Maya 5, then that would be my next choice. Totally kick-ass software!

As for the picture...the top of the head and her hair look at bit wrong. Other than that, a heroic effort!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

... you sure are pushing yourself forward more and more! It's always great to see people getting better all the time with the tool-set they use. I'm also looking forward to your animations. Keep it up, Boris! You'll be doing "Dr. Aki Ross" soon :)

Best regards....

Very nice work Boris
I think the skin shader could use a little more work, to me it looks a little too pinkish and the specular is not quite right. I think as your work is getting better it is getting down to finer and finer details which need to keep up with the quality of the rest of your model, eg tiny wrinkles, skin pores, the small pink areas around the tear ducts and a some moisture around the tearduct, I saw a earlier version of this and I still think I like that render better with her having a little more of a tan, also I noticed u have lost a little of that fine detail of little veins you had in the ear, dont know if that was intentional or not but it looked very nice.

Really great work tho boris and these small flaws are only apparent I think because of the overall high quality of your work, keep it up, you are really doing a good marketing job for realsoft :)

Does her skin look a bit like plastic, or is it just me? Great model by the way:thumbsup:

@vikingboy You are definitely the one I've to thank for the progress I've made and make and I will work on the shader further :)

@ RageCage: the blur is dof but I agree looks somehow cumbersum pointed on it

@ wethepe0ple : thanx ... oiink ... :P

@ EvilBasterd : also thanx ... and I'll try to improve the shader

Looks great Boris:thumbsup:
Any chance of seeing the wireframe?

The only other thing that hasn't been mentioned is the whites of the eyes - maybe break them up a bit with a few veins?

GOOD STUFF~
BUT THE HAIR LOOKS NOT VERY SUITABLE~HOW DID U DO THAT?
MAYBE TRY ANOTHER WAY:rolleyes:

Boris

@Aura: All replies concerning the hair were very positive yet. So different are the views.
Realsoft has a built-in shader-language. VSL called. The hair is done of a mesh with aplied procederal VSL-fade map and blended with visible NURBS curves and there instances.

Just to say a quick thanks for the mesh - looks great!

I like this very much (apart from what has already been mentioned). But I see in your wireframe that she has dimples? Or at least it looks that way in the mesh. I can't see these in the render. Is this because she isn't smiling enough? Or are they possibly just too shallow?

wow ... 5 stars ... that's nice of you

@ jellyfish: yes ... you are right ... she isn't smiling enough. I modelled the mesh like I expected the skin will stretch most naturally. So the dimples will become more or less visible depending on her mood.

here is a very wip rendering of the body (needs some more work). The dimple rendering comes later.

Hi there Boris again!

I found something nice on the web. Maybe of interest to you. Here http://www.pxl8.co.uk/skin_shader.htm you find a very nice example of another skin-shader. Maybe you can combine this one with your shader and optimize it even further. Here is a very nice example of that other skin-shader in action http://www.pxl8.co.uk/latest.htm scroll a bit down. Caution: some sort of nudity there.

Best regards...

That example is from a much older version of my shader, better examples can be seen at:

@pxl8: Andy ... I've tried your skin shader and the illumination is already much better than with the shader I used before. Many thanx for sharing it. Your Katri model is a bomb.

Boris, glad the shader was useful, can't wait to see your latest renders.

Oh, I had a suggestion for your bump mapping on Frida. Try adding a bumpheight*=abs.val(ray*normal) so the bump mapping falls off at high angles to the viewer. You might need to increase the overall bump height to compensate but I've found it helps with the "noise" from bumps and cuts back the aa needed for rendering.

Keep up the great work!

I too would like to see dimples, pimples, and other such things. She's looking a bit too perfected :)
VSL should take care of all this :)

At the first page of this thread you'll find an updated version of frida.
Thanx for all your input :applause:

I don't like the teeth, the mouth and the hair... obviously you can't do better hair without better plug-ins or too time-comsuming work with textures and multiple layers.

:shame:

The arm is too thin near from the shoulders and too fat (thick, gross) by the forearms.

But don't hesitate, keep working

:wip:

PRACTICE LEADS TO PERFECTION!

But I don't know what to do with virtual girls when she get done. Kiss her? Talk to her? Leave her in a virtual environment? HAHA
