Hi,

I'm trying to scale the leg of a robot in one direction however I do not want the children objects linked to it to scale along with it. The object I'm scaling has a bone inside it so I am using the bone tools rollout to scale the object whilst keeping the bone's properties intact.

Here's a pic:

I'm trying to scale the lower leg section to make it longer, however as i'm sure you can see it's a car 'transformer' and here's where the problem comes in:

In the above image you can see the rear quarter of the car. This is linked to the lower leg that I'm trying to scale. The problem is that this part (including the wheel) scales when i scale the lower leg of the robot. I could scale it back to a reasonable shape afterwards but as the wheel is also scaling I may have trouble getting it to be completely round again.

So what I'm basically asking is - is there a way to scale this leg via the bone scaling option of the bone tools rollout without it affecting the child objects (rear quarter & wheel)?

You don't scale the bone, you stretch it while moving the child bone(if unticking the Freeze Length option in the bone tools).
