here's my first try for the future lights of the scene. For now there's just some transparency on the mesh, but nothing definitive.

And... i loose my last work of the last challenge, so i modelised this one quickly with some meshes i had like the skull of March challenge and the body of the 2nd demon... :( :( where's my demonangel woman i had :( :( bouhhhhh.... :(

here's the real beginning of my work :

the textures apply in some parts in bump and UV :

To bad that you lost your last moddel.
How did it happen.:( had a virus or you just excedently erased it?
Well Your new one look's nasty. Looks like a mumified body of a thousand years which has been dug up.:wavey:
But he has a nasty sparkling eye.
Will he raise out of his grave to kill ?? Who know's:eek: :p

rolhionjs

not a technical pb.... just my stupidity... :( i erase it by thinking it was another file, and tssshuusss the mesh.. :(

but anyway... thx for the comment ! :) a mummy uh ? :) :) i even don't know who he is, but one think is sure : i hope never see in real the one i created ! :) :) :)

That is a creepy model.
I was wondering, do you have any thoughts on what the final composition is going to be? You showed a couple different angles, and so I was curious if you have a specific one in mind.
The texture on the character seems like it might be a little haphazardly applied. What kind of UV mapping did you apply? Oh, and what program are you using?
Anyway, it's looking pretty good so far, and I'm looking forward to updates.

Did you lose the model that is on your avatar? I love that model.

Edit:
Ahh! You changed it!

rolhionjs
04-20-2002, 04:23 AM
About the angle i'll choose : i still don't know, but the last one is more interesting i think :) i'll see in time ;)

About UV... well i'm a recent user in 3D, it's only 4 months i'm working on lightwave for pleasure, so i still don't know all the fonctions of texturing... In this 3 scenes, i used the same UVs, but as you can see, it's not really "realistic" so i'll have to work harder on this. These challenges are cool for that too : it's a good way to beginners like me, to have a chance to learn things an doing things in a precise time. :)

I'll try to get more realistic skins in the next posts ;)

thx for your comment ! :)

well about the fur, it was not really a good idea, so i prefer working more on skin texture and lights.

For example here's the result after 15 hours of rendering on my poor celeron500

Sorry to posting that here, but something very important is coming in FRANCE... and i have to stop this challenge... Due to political views, actually we're electing our new President here, and the 2 finalists are the worse we can have...

Fascism is coming strongly here, and i closed my site to support my ideology and fight this new thing here... People here voted for the worse that could happen... This guy Jean-Marie Lepen, is the extreme in the right of human being... Nothing so bad could happen in the country we name : the country of the human rights... It's sad but that's reality...

Another time sorry to post that here, but all the graphic community here is touch by what's happening... Alot of sites closed to fight in their own way this new thing... And that's my case...

Well i hope you'll understand all what's signify that, and i hope you'll support french people who trust in truth, real valours of peace and fraternity.. and to the contrary, fight all the thing this man is thinking...

I hope to have time to update too... and Gabe... if you wanna support, i posted a thread on general discussion, and i'm sorry to see it's sometimes not so good to defends idea and try to explain things to people who are not really engage in it....

thanks for your comment my friend...

Hey there, .::STRIKE::.
I agree with Gabe - I'm very sorry to see that you want to give up here. You've gotten this far already, so why not finish it?
I understand where you are coming from, as I too live in a country of extreme political unrest and violence, but I wouldn't let that stop me from doing what I love.
However, then again, I am not much of a patriot, being of British lineage myself, so perhaps I do not understand your devotion to your cause and views, which, by the way, I strongly admire and respect.
I do hope, however, that you do find the time to continue the challenge, because your work is excellent.
Leigh

I'll do continue Leigh :)

It's good to know people understand what's going on herer ... even if my thread in general discussions was too political and has been censured, i understand then that i don't have to stop here my work for political reasons... ;) Thx Leigh :)

That damn hypocrit asshole called Le Pen, he's ruining the face of France, in the Netherlands we have also someone that is a Fascist politian and rising fast....Pim fortyun. Those people say they know what's best for their country, blaming the foreigners/assylum seekers for everything.

There is no place nor time for fascism!!!

(It's probaly your (and then I mean the France people) own faulth cause lot's of France didn't go out to vote....shame....But that doesn't mean that it's okay to have a fascist running for president!)

...hope to see you finish your challenge!!!

rolhionjs
04-24-2002, 09:14 PM
thx Sangotten :) but finally it's not a solution to stop everything coz of him so here's another update.

Well it's time for me to work seriously on textures... Here's a try :

j'aimerai juste voir un peu plus de variations sur ta texture, histoire de detacher certaines parties (les gencives, les contours des yeux, etc...)
en tout cas, je suis content que tu sois tjs la!
il parait meme que c'est dans ces sombres periodes qu'on est soit disant plus creatif, alors mets les bouchees doubles STRIKE, profites en tant que le facho a encore l'attention des medias...:annoyed: :annoyed:

My computer crashed... :( :suprised:
Time for me to buy a new configuration and install all, i'm not sure to have a chance to finish (again) to the deadline date... But anyway, as soon it's repair, i hope to do the maximum to finish...

Gosh it means i will not be able to update that at least for one week... :( too bad....

rolhionjs
05-03-2002, 10:46 AM

And to finish i want to thanks all my french friends here and particulary : dnepr, Niko who gave me alot of comments on my forum to help me getting this better and better :) Thanks guys !!! And SiVeL too, who helped by giving comments on it, and for his fabulous work who gave me the force to get higher ! :) Et oui gars ! Weve just brought a seat of lghtwave here. Mainly got it due to its animation capabilities...But if my memory serves me right the renderer was always the best..DOnt supose there are any good tuts for someone to get stuck into the materilas side of things in Lightwave..???

Like I said we got it for rigging and animation...which means its not for me, but Im still keen on having a play:p
