View Full Version : Texturing: no texture visible in Unwrap UVWs mode
ehmdjii 05-04-2003, 10:49 AM im applying a texture using the unwrap UVW modifier.
in several tutorials i see that when in "Edit UVWs" mode, the texture is visible in the background, so i can easily place certain polygons on the positions in the texture.
but i dont see the texture, just the polygons in wireframe mode.
the positioning works, but its so hard to place them correctly when you dont see where they should go.
can i turn that on somewhere?

This has been discussed like, many times... still, go down in your unwrap editor's option, find the "Brightness" spinner and turn that up, make it 1,0 (or is that the other way around ? can't remember, anyhow, set it to 0 or 1 depending on how it's set now).
That should fix the problem.

another thing just happened:
sometimes the texture gets scaled really small. like 5 times on each polygon, while it should be only 1 time on all polygons.
i dont really know what i did to make this happen.
how can i undo that?

could it be that you've tiled it ? Look up either in your maps for the "tiling" value, or directly in the unwrap there is also a tile feature that you can parameter.
Once again, this you could have fixed by yourself looking up in help files (the infamous "F1"), or just searching for a tutorial on unwrapping.
