say i have beveled a polygon and i want to undo that, but not using the undo button. ;)

i can delete the new polygons but then i get a hole. so how do i fill a hole?
or is there even a better method? collapse?

Hi,
in Editable Mesh or Editable Poly SElection rollout select the Polygon sub-object type and go to the Edit Geometry rollout. There you will find a Create button. Activate it and in your scene click on one vertex surrounding your hole. Go on clicking the next vertex and so on until you surrounded the hole. If you do it counterclockwise the normal of the new polygon will point outwards.

Hope this helps,

Russel

Select the center polygon that resulted from the bevel. Ctrl-click on the edge subobject level button to convert to an edge selection. Grow the selection once, then tap the backspace key...et voila! A bit simpler than creating a new face, no?

Hey there is a modifier in the modify panel called cap holes. Try that.

It depends on if your either using the poly edit or mesh edit and which version of Max...Poly edit will have a special sub-object called 'border' which lets you quickly select an open hole by clicking on a single edge and just below in it's properties, there's a cap option...Just a bit quicker than all of the above, afterwards you can cut some new edges though the newly created face to make it smoother. :)
