Hi, I'n currently trying to create face textures from a few photos, and have a few problems..

Firstly, the lighting of the various photos are different, and when i mix them together the highlights do not match. How do I remove those highlights?
Secondly, the skin tones appears different. How do I blend the two different tones together?

I'm using photoshop and am unsure of what techniques to use to blend the different photos together. Please advise.

with the 'High Pass' filter you can remove highlights (Filter>Other>High Pass) if that doesn't work you need to paint it out yourself...

(credits to Leigh for this, learned from the Texture Workshops stickyfied on the top)

for the blending, I don't know, you could try to darken or lighten it together using the 'dodge' and 'burn' tools but there must be a better way to do it

The greatest strength of Photoshop lies in it's manipulation tools for images. How well do you know Photoshop? Most people seem to think that it is merely a painting package, when in essence, it has actually always been a photo manipulation package (up until recently, that is, when they introduced a proper painting engine from version 6 onwards).

Take advantage of iall the different tools and options under Image>Adjust to blend all your images together by altering their tones.

I recommend doing some reading (not only of your Photoshop manual, but also anywhere that you can find info) on colour and tonal control and editing in images.
