A new beta test of CrazyBump (version 8.6) is available to the public.
CrazyBump makes 3D materials from images, using shape recognition. It generates normal, displacement, occlusion, specularity, and diffuse textures.

WOW FREAKY - just started out with it today too before this post :) Is the beta time locked? I ask because I know you're bringing out a commercial version at some point.

Looking very good, great video, didn't listen to the audio but it looked great and easy to follow, when is this expected to come out of BETA phase? How much will it cost to purchase eventually?

I love this tool A LOT....started using it last year and it makes my normal maps look even more detailed...I love the normals blending the most...and the creation of ambient occlusion textures... very nice touch... I had a cloth texture that was done in Zbrush and the use of crazy bump really enhanced the normal map looked...especially with super tiny details that were impossible to do in Zbrush without cranking up the poly count...
If you make this commercial...this is a worthy addition to my pipeline until they fix that issue with ZMapper where you can combine bumps and normals...
