I love Gundam's just because I love robots. I did not want to model one that was made by someone else so I tried to make my own. Just something quick to get some idea's of what it is really lacking. Other than the rest of it. But one thing at a time :)

I also wanted a reason to see how you upload pics here.

The face looks odd....
the eyes and the 'V' on the mouth is wrong....

u used bumps for the body?? it's kind of messy...

but nevertheless, it's a good try in doing a gundam of your own style!

Keep it up

No bump. I was going for the groves in the armor, kinda like heavy arms. I got a little carried away.
Ok the face did bother me. So i messed with it a little and took it apart and tried to clean it up.

There are a few things on the top of the head that look weird but i am trying to see if i can get a patern on it that I wanted.
I was more interested in the facemask. The V did bother me in the face, But i dont like the grill or screen in the facemask that I always see. Started to look like Darth V! But i want a more round look than geometric. I want to get the shader plugin to do the cartoon look to it? Forgot the name of it. All the added geometry I think would not look right with the detail and the end result I was looking to get.
Eyes?
Like the Air master to change into the ship, I was looking to have this one do kinda like a tank shift. So the back of the head in the other 2 was weird cus I have a plate you could not see very well.

Darakusan, I like your work a lot. Sweet stuff!
Your info is a help.

Do you use Brazill or a different render?
I need a new machine. This one stinks, once the work gets a little geomitry, it starts to work.

Not a pro? Did you pay to learn max? I did and look at this? Would have been better off spending the money on a new system and learn it on my own.

haha nope, i did not pay to learn 3ds max ;D
i learn it thru browsing on internet. kind of fun experience

but there's still lots of things i still do not know how to do...

Anyway back to your robot, looks like the mesh for the head got cork up when u meshsmooth it?? Some area is smooth and some is jagged... hmmmz

And u could throw away the nose ;) gundam need no nose

Anyway keep it going
:applause:

Well i did it with more than one piece. Some of it I wanted smoothed, other parts I wanted the sharp angles. Like the back of the helm I wanted smooth but where the vents are I wanted the angles.

I know I cant model. IF I redid a mesh, when it would get screwed up, I would never have anything done.

Home schooled Max...... I am going to drop kick my teachers.
Well, maybe I can feel better about the money i wasted by asking you, are you going to animate your's? Set up a bone, ik system? Maybe use Biped.
