View Full Version : Freehand Question
angelakong 05-04-2003, 03:57 AM Please help.
I am working on the school yearbook and I used paste inside function to paste in the pictures into different shaped objects.
Say if I paste in a picture in a triangle. When I move the triangle the content itself doesn't move
I cannot group them either. It takes me much more time to move and resize the objects.
Please help!:)

This isn't really the best place to be posting your question.
Try finding a Freehand forum somewhere... I don't think that many people who use Freehand are going to be looking in here.

Been using freehand since Ver. 7 here :)
Ok I'm figuring that you're using the Paste Inside feature and are inserting a photograph (or any object inside) what selection tool are you using to move the triangle? My guess is you're using the white arrow called "subselect tool" as opposed to using the "Pointer" which superselects instead of general selecting objects, however when you transform it would be safer to group and then ungroup which I don't see how it could be unpractical.
I still don't understand the unpractical side of grouping your object as you put it but I'm figuring that maybe that's besides the point.
So check the color of your pointer, also the keyboard shortcut for the subselect is alt (temporary).

both, your shape (triangle) and the picture inside need to be grouped...than grab it with the black arrow and move it whereever you want.
