View Full Version : Cinema 4D animation - bending objects on a path

It's easy enough to have an object move on a path, or spline, or rail spline etc. however, what about having it bend with the spline?

I know there is a way to have an object "extrude" on a path, but this sample i'm posting isn't extruding...

in the sample I uploaded below, see the red arrows towards the end of the animation, see how they bend? i mean, i guess i could do that with keyframes, but that's a lot of keyframes!

I'm not as well versed in all the added features in the newwest version of C4D, so there's likely (as always) more than one way do pull that off, but you might look into the "Path Deformer" plugin. There's a free "Path Deformer Lite" version you could check out. Or, of course there's the MoGraph module from Maxon too...again I'm not as versed in it.

Kieguy, thank you so much for your response. this IS exactly what I was looking for. I'm not sure if it's in mograph osince i don't have that yet but nevertyheless. this rules. i feel like this is so useful...
