This image was created in Painter 4 a while ago -- it's actually a heavily processed image of a waterfall.

It's an art form that I particularly like -- starting with a photograph or drawing and processing it to become something else entierly ! ... If enough people are interested I will dig up the series of images that show the transformation from waterfall to this.

It's not something I would set out to paint by hand. I was amazed as I processed the waterfall image to see this image evolding out of it... I caerfully coaxed out the eye in the final few stages.

The *only* hand painting is the highlight on the "eye", *everything* else is the result of directed processing of the original image.

... anyway. What do people think?

Very organic. I see nothing "water" about this painting, it looks like it could be just about anything living anywhere.

I would be interested in seeing the series. This really dosn't look much like a waterfall at all, I guess the weird lighter portion is where the waterfall was.

That's very surreal. It has a strong Giger feel to it

Looks great! And I'd also be interested in seeing the progression too.

That is one STRANGE looking picture.
Its hypnotizing. I couldn't take my eye off it.
I sure hope you plan on making more like this if you haven't already.
I could easily see this on display at a fineart gallery.

That really is fascinating and cool, I'm also very curious to see what the original image looked like, and the process as well.

Damn... I just spent an hour going through old backups and all I can find is a image with four steps from start to finish -- but it's embedded in an old Director project -- in 256 paleted colour!

I am trying to extract the image to post it here but so far I am having no joy :( ... looks like I will have to run up Director and extract the image -- it appeared in issues 6 - 9 of UNDERCOVER, a rock n roll magazing on CD we did years ago.

I will keep trying -- it might just take me a while.

If you say this is a tetxure for an animal model, I would say its butt kicking. But since it suppose to be experimental and somehow abstract, then it leaves to the viewers interpretations.

Would be nice to see a series of images showing the evolution of this work.
