View Full Version : Double Joint knee method??
loked 05-04-2003, 01:40 AM Hi,
I was just wondering what people thought of the method where you place 2 joints by the knee, so that you get correct deformation when the knee bends. I have tried it before and its seems to work pretty well, but I just wanted to know if anybody else uses this method and if not, why not??

Hi Loked,
Could you please be a bit more specific about your 2 joint setup. I'm afraid I don't really understand what you're talking about (this will probably be my skill-level :)) It sounds very interesting.

I Have used it in the past.. and it worked great on that model 'cause his knees were pretty long.
I think it would depend on the model. But yeah.. I'm all for it.. I like it.. and it's not that much harder to set up.. just and extra bone and you are pretty much done :)
(you could check IK-Joe (http://www.digital-dreams.net)) he has this set up

Hey Goosh,
Would you mind just given a short description on how you set this double knee joint up. Really just the rigging part, not the joint placement.
Thanks!
