Hi everyone,

I just wanted to tell you, that I'm actually developing a new tool for all Maya users.

It's called MELANIE (MEL Assistant and Natural Interface Editor). I'm trying to make a visual UI builder so that all the MEL commands for the interface will be automatically generated. You will just have to write the behaviour of your interface :)

I'm only at the version 0.2, but I update it every week.

Build in all styles and controlles .. then it starts to get intresting .. now it is not realy usefull :annoyed:

Hmm I found MELANIE very.. hard to work with. It felt incomplete. it's an awesome idea though! :thumbsup:

CGmonkey - hmm yeah the 0.2 version would suggest that its not exactly ready for final release! ;) give him chance, by 1.0 it should do exactly what he has in mind.. I`ll give it a go though..

Oh okey.. Sorry :wavey:

I'm really looking forward to the release! Even though it's half the fun to build the UI and windows (fairly new to MEL) but that will change after a few scripts! ;) hehe..

when is the full release? when will we be able to use other layouts besides "column" ???

this really is a great app that can cut time drastically to create UI...thanks for sharing it with the community! :thumbsup:

what would really kick ass would be a drag and drop UI builder (with photoshop integration) then you could make some sick customized UI's.... *drool*

anywho, ill check this out... I never was any good at making UI's
