Well,
finally got the courage to post something here.
Been a long-time lurker for bout 2 or 3 years now, always being amazed by this board´s oozing creativity.
Propably wouldnt have posted any of my junk, if some people would´nt have forced me to do so :)

So heres my first contribution (be gentle please! no not really... )

As the title implies, i´m creating a new ut3 character for the Necris Faction and currently, being in the process of creating the hi-res model.

I know she´s quite of a flak-bait with that bulky piece of something on her head, but shes intended for a machinima and not for actual gaming, so thats not too important i think.

Next step will be adding ornamental pieces and some structures to the back.

Alright, here´s a small update.
Been tinkering around with that fresque lately.
It doesn´t really look the way i want right now, so im gonna redo it.
Just want to show what direction i´m after.

Gonna optimize those fresque meshes in the next days, cause they´re bit too high poly for the desired effect, plus i want more of them scattered all over the top cranium armour.

Suggestions are welcome of course :)

wicked... i just don`t know if the normal maps resolution can capture that fragile details

Ive got a little bit carried away from my actual goal for that piece and kinda made it a sculpting excercise (i really suck at it right now... need to get better)

I admit such detail wont be seen ingame anywa,y so thats why ill stick with a much more low res version vor the overall hi-res model:

This looks really awesome dude, great job! In my humble opinion it is a little bit too high-poly (especially in the wing area) and other areas could lose a lot of polys as well (for example the back area where the black armor meets) even if it is the high poly one. But that's just because I'm so used to working with low-res meshes and like to keep my high poly meshes optimised as much as possible as well :scream:
I like the design, even though it's still the stereotypical barely-clothed woman (which is fine ofcourse, we're all men in the end, unless someone's female), it fits in nicely with the rest of the UT3 characters (even though it's obviously different from the bulky fat armor that the other ones have). I love the facial area, it's beautifully created :thumbsup: The shoes are a bit... Different though, i don't think any fashion-concious woman would wear those (or not, women are hard to understand sometimes). Then again the armor isn't meant to be that realistic. They just stand out a little in my opinion.

But to be honest i did NOT had a good idea how to make the torso amour look like ...

I don't mind looking at girls, especially when they're 'modeled right' :scream: I think the design fits her, it makes the stereotype irrelevant, since the rest of the UT3 characters are stereotypes as well. I think you did really well, what polycount are you aiming for? 13000, like the other ones? Or are you going for a few polys extra just because you can for machininma movies? :D Looking forward to new shots dude, good luck, I'll be here lurking and waiting for your updates :scream:
