i'm trying to do some high-res tile renders in MR (8.5 64-bit SP1), but have two issues... here's a sample of my batch render script:

-x 1024 -y 576 -reg 0 512 0 288
-x 1024 -y 576 -reg 512 1024 0 288
-x 1024 -y 576 -reg 0 512 288 576
-x 1024 -y 576 -reg 512 1024 288 576

rendering this way the FG comes out different on every tiled image resulting on a non-seamless blend.... presumably because its actually calculating the FG accross the whole 1024 image and not the tile...? is there a way to render only the tiles without black space around them or get the FG to work properly (as one for the tiles)...? any tips would be cool :)

yes ofcourse
however ther are couple of ways to fix
the easiest is the render the enitre FG map by itself (ther is an option in the mentalrayGlobals; to render FG map ONLY)
then turn it to freze
then render tile

i've used rebuild off / freeze before, but i don't know of a way to render any FG without rendering an image as well.... hmmm actually i just found in mrGlobals "RenderFinalGatherMaps" is that it..? :) its funny i've never known these things were there until i had to use them lol.

that the one
so render the FG map ONLY with a name
then turn it to freeze > tile away

tested and it works great with FG :) however just realised the Z-depth is being calculated per tile and not based on the scene lol, so they're all different... argh. oh well at least the RGB is good.
