Hey guys.

So after much thrashing, I was finally able to get a website done before heading out to GDC. This would be my first website, and to say it was challenging to learn all the in's and outs to have it up in less then a week is a huge understatement.

www.spiralface.com (http://spiralface.com/)

Tell me what you guys think and what I can improve. Now with GDC over I want to take the time to iron out all the kinks I know are in both my site and in my work while I work on finally finishing up my last classes in school

The reel is currently only temporary while I update it with some new work.

I know its all very simplistic and temporary, but comments whould be great.

Thanks.

Looks like you've got some good skills. But the first 3D model, makes me want to leave your site. I know she is supposed to be alll crazy anatomy, but I think she is a poor choice for the first one. You personal work seems much better than anything from the title you worked on. I would put that stuff first, and your title stuff after. Just MHO.

You don't need a home page. Take the user directly to your portfolio gallery.

I "get" the Xavier models because I am familiar with the show and it's art direction. I do however agree that your personal work is "cooler" looking. If you put it first you'd be better, also include some information about the show being a wacky, Adult Swim program it might help people grasp what they are looking at and why it looks so odd.

Cool to see that you're the guy who did characters on the show though, neat!

I think you should have a splash image on the home page or at the very least make your gallery the home page. Pick your best image(s) for that. I'm not a fan of your 2d work but it shows you have some ideas or concepts. Your personal work looks great and I like that painterly look of it. The one annoying thing I have is your wireframes looked drawned on maybe just use a wireframe material instead. I would also make your texture maps bigger so I could check them out. The other 3d work from that project you worked on brings down your personal work greatly. I would take it out until you have better work from it. Hope this helps, by the way how was gdc?

Yeah, the art target for Xavier was pretty bizarre, and for it the art target was set to be "Quick and dirty" to fit into the production scheduel, but the thing is simply that it was my first published work that I've pretty much put out, and so I simply wanted it up there to show that I have actually worked on a professional, nationally syndicated project, so I picked the storngest pieces that I built from scratch of the show that wasn't too out there or offensive (As I'm sure mutated pets and Sperm dogs would have effected some people out there.) And the first guy is pretty much in there because he is probalby the strongest piece out of all the age variations for the main character of the show. Rest Assured, once I get some more published work the Xavier Stuff will be phased out in favor for something a bit more strong.

Also, GDC went very well for me, I actually lined up some interviews and I'm expecting an Art Test to be delivered to me by the end of the evening, so I've very exited about the prospects of lining up some more professional work. If I get anything I'm sure you'll see the "Freelance Modeler" tag get upgraded to where ever I'm working if I'm allowed to do it.

I would like to thank everyone that has given input and trust me I will take it heavily into concideration when I get around to fixing everything up there. But for right now I'm mainly focused on nailing some of these art tests I'm getting as well as finishing up my Batchlors. But if nothing pans out from these interviews I'm getting I'll be updating my site.

hi,

i have view your portfolio.. is nice and great.. but from my point of view, the colour like the aqua blue is not matching and font like Times New Roman could be change to something more neat like Verdana,Justify the allignment. The image view should have open in a new tab or window instead replacing your own website page.. Maybe is my own view..any changes is up to you..^^

Overall good job..

Hey, nice portfolio work. But I can't view your website, can you check to see if it's working ok? So you worked on that adult swim show with Xavier. If I'm thinking of the right show I interviewed at Cinematico for a position there several months back, unfortunately it didn't culminate in anything though, how is the company doing on the show now that it's been a while?
