I hear that samsung and HP are generally the best for LCDS -- I have a viewsonic CRT and have always been impressed with the color/contrast, does this quality make it over to their LCDs?

I work generally as an animator, could you people tell me what keywords I should look for? Such as a minimum acceptable response time, and contrast ratio?

I have 2 vx922s and a dell 2407wfp here, I recommend both models. the vx922 was my first lcd switch from trinitrons and all aspects of it are above my original expectation... Good luck

I've always liked Viewsonic monitors. I don't use any right now. I tend to stick with 3 or 4 specific brand names and get whatever has the best price at the time I need them. We live in the age of 'Disposable Technology' afterall.

Oh, and by the way...

I have a Dell 24inch too, and I absolutley love it. Everybody who has one absolutely loves theirs too. You cannot go wrong with a dell monitor.

Things to ponder...

you can often find their 24inch monitors for a very, very low price in the Dell Outlet website, (the official one). If you buy one, look at the label in the back, and ensure that the version is at least A04. Anything below that, and the monitor won't be HDCP complaint; meaning that you won't be able to feed it 1080p video out of a Blu-ray play, or play encrypted HD content on it.
