am i right that an object in the real world will fall one meter in the first second?
why does an object in maya with a gravity field connected to it doesn't do the same?
i created a sphere and raised it to 100 units because the world setting in maya is cm. i had to raise the magnitude of the gravity field to 217 to have the sphere fall all the 100 cm in 25 frames.

most dynamic simulations i see look kinda slow motion.

so is anyone here who can tell me how to achieve real world gravity in maya?

little mistake.. it has to fall 9,81 meter in the first second i think. please correct me if not

With my units set to metres, it takes a value of 1960 in the Gravity field to make an object fall 9.8 metres in the first second.

There was a huge discussion about scale and dynamics in Maya somewhere....I'll try and find it.

i found it out myself. once you understand the big relationship it's easy.
but i still have the problem that i have to set the calculation step size and collision tollerance very low to get nearly acceptable results
