celezionka 05-03-2003, 02:48 PM Yet another car WIP....
Seems like a lot of C4D cars going around lately, but I thought I would post my nissan 350Z. It's my first cinema4D project and has been great for starting to learn the program (which I am just loving!). Thanks also to the numerous tips posted in this forum about modeling (and modeling cars specifically).

It looks good, but too dark to really see it.
don't know much about nissians. but I would imagine that there is no seam down the middle.
either you need to fix the symetry object. or you used make thicker before converting to symmetry.

Thanks for the comments. I agree -- it is kind of blah at this stage. Texturing should help, but I have even less experience with texturing, so maybe not.
@JIII
I don't see a seam -- am I just missing it?
@AdamT
Here's a brighter image. Sorry for the poor quality -- 30000 byte limit.

I have a question about my car WIP so i decided to throw it out since we are on the subject. On the hood of my car is a crease from my symmetry object and no matter what I put my points at this crease will not go away. I am getting rather frusterated as it has been 30 min of toying around and this and that and NOTHING. I hope you guys and gals know how to fix this...:banghead:
okay a few things to look for.
1 place your symmetry inside your hypernurbs object.
2. crank up the weld value for your symmetry object.
with out more info thats all I can offer you.
sorry mr. celzonika.
I because of the lighting and compression I miss interpreted the line thought that this was an error.

One other thing....
Make sure that aech offending point ( in the area that is being weird) is set to "0"...whatever axis it should be closest to. I have had this happen time and time again.

BTW: The Nissan is coming along great. Keep it up and keep us informed.

Thank you J it was just a simple matter of welding..duh, silly me
Because the forum is kinda dead tonight I will give you one more peice of advice you probibly already know from making heads.
select all the innermost points in your symmetry, and use structure-edit surface-set value to set everyting to zero that way you should not have to deal with any weld problems.
