Hi, I'm trying to get a Cape flowing in the wind without turning in it self. It should keep the shape but wave in the wind. No matter what settings I'll try it always messes up. Any help would be great.

Attached the file to test

Thanks

Hey Thomas,

To help with the self collisions try raising the EPS values to maybe 20m or so.

Not sure if you wanted it to also maintain it's shape more like a para-sail or hang glider (Batmans cape when he jumps of a roof, etc.). If that is what your trying to do it may work better if in the vertex map for stiffness you have the 'stiff bands' run across the cape rather than along it's length and crank the stiffness value in the forces tab way up.

However, if that is what your looking for, it might work better if you used 'control ribs' with select points belted to them. That would allow you to control the overall shape of the cape yet allow for some areas to flap. (The ribs themselves would of course be hidden for rendering)

Have fun,

Sam
