Hi,

I also posted this at the rigging forum, but maybe it's more a technical 3ds max question, so I'll quote myself here. Please reply to the other topic. Thanks.
My goal is to have an object follow a lookat constrained object's rotation around two axis, rotation around the third axis should be inherited from a third object.

Currently I have one object which has a lookat constraint and another one which has his X rotation wired to the first objects X rotation. If I just wire 'm to the first object all goes well, but as soon as I apply the lookat constraint the X rotation isn't passed down the wire anymore.

Is this the right approach? If it is, then what am I doing wrong? And if it isn't, can someone help me to achieve the desired effect with a different solution. Thanks.

Hmm, maybe I should rephrase my question.

Howcome I can't wire any properties of an object which has an orientation, position or lookat bound to it?

Maybe someone has another solution to this problem? Without wires? Thanks.
