View Full Version : Hide floor layer. Particular.
leecobra 02-24-2008, 10:19 PM I am doing a little project whereas I am taking a backplate which is a shot of a normal room, I want particles to pass through the room. I am experimenting with Trapcode particular, and was wondering: Can you have a solid as a floor surface and then make it unrenderable however still have the particular particles cast shadows on the floor? Basically so the shadows appear to be on the backplate room floor.
I could of sworn you can do this but for the life of me cannnot remeber how, it has been a while since I used it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Particular does not interact with the normal 3D space and thus does not cast shadows. When faking them, it shoud be sufficient to tint a duplicate of the composition white and have it cast shadows on a white/ grey plane, then use multiply blendmode.
