"texture enviroment" experiments, renders in 6 seconds without water, and 14 seconds with the water
http://www.lwg3d.org/files/1008028910.jpg
the experiments were really not focused on the ocean design, but i did a little exploration with it to...i was trying to create the light that would travel through the small wakes and hit the other side, and came up with a solution. :p

heres just another sky, looks a little more painterly than the first.

as you can see, "texture enviroment "without the "V light" and soft "lens flare" the whole dramatic effect is not present

ANIMATION
here is a short animated clip, done the same way the nebulea was animated. the clouds are a little fast because i sped the animation up for the web...and ignore the water, i forgot all about it :D
