Like this a lot, cool to see it plugged..really like the shell effects and unusual theme. Would be cool to see more with her or maybe a 3D version..I like the totem-like aspect of the turtle too.
Ok, very weird question also, but there was a pic or pics floating around on the net of a real girl in a similar outfit (high socks and gym shorts, not turtle hat :D ) leaning on a blue inflatable chair or beach ball like that, no chance of finding the pic now, but this snapped the memory out of my head..by any coincidence did you use her as inspiration?

hmm..why has her right boot such a 'blurred' look if I may ask?
Nice piece btw

Its got a funny Masamune Shirow feel to it. Y'know, when he used to draw a griffin/monster with some young and beautiful woman...
If her head is turned, shouldn't the helmet be turned accordingly? I know it looks nicer to show it that way, but i dunno if that was what you intended.

Thats really nice ..the textue in the shell is really well done . The only thing that I would say this image needs is to be a little sharper around the edges ..and that if you are going to paint over some of the line art edges paint over all of them because it doesnt look good to ahve a mix in my opinion . ...over all very nice work though :wavey:
*edit * I also think you need to match the colors on her costime a lot better . Like her stocking should match her shirt and maybe have a contrast in the shorts but the color value should be in the same family and it would really tie her look together a lot better .

Yes.. I'd ispired that you've seen pics some of real girl from
floating around on the net.
so, I melt such as various image into my works. I modify
features and add turtles as a substitute. Because original
situaltion is not fun.
I inspired and adapt all around image to my works sometimes.
Ultimately I sublimate ordinary images into an ideal works.

Cool! At least I know I'm not senile yet! Good find there. :D
I think that's an awesome use of reference, it was her pose and look that stuck with me originally, and you've taken it way further. Really like the rest of your site as well. Hope to see more here in the future. :)
Nice work! my only critique is over her shadow, could be more solid! post up more!

Not bad, bad don't you think it's a bit strange that she's wearing the dismembered head of another turtle, while cuddling up to this one? Maybe that explains the strange expression on his face...kind of like a man about to be set upon by Anna Nicole Smith.

hey~~ it's a great work man.... nice illustration...
but i think if add more depth or shadow to the turtle would be perfect......(just my opinion:rolleyes: )

steven... where DO you find your girls? :D
hey! sExaH gurl wiTH a TurTLe? what a combination... but great skills u got there...:airguitar
This is the thing I often wonder about when i see 2d work on here. How much of it is original...?
I'm not saying that you straight up copied it, and you still did prove you have skill, but after seeing how the exact same pose and hair was ripped from the picture i have less appreciation for it. That is probably why the turtle-helmet and the shadows look weird, because they weren't in the original picture.
Neil, you need to get that stick or bucket out of your anal cavity and start enjoying the work. You seem to keep jumping from thread to thread to often give negative or paranoid comments when your own work is... well I've been taught that if you're not going to say anything positive don't say anything. So no comment on your work, Neil.
BTW awesome work wonman kim. Welcome to the forum! I loved the stuff on your website too.

This is amazing work. Simply amazing.
"I'm not saying that you straight up copied it, and you still did prove you have skill, but after seeing how the exact same pose and hair was ripped from the picture i have less appreciation for it."
I guess if thats ur opion. But thats kinda like saying "thats not a very nice sketch from life drawing because u drew her in the same pose" He still drew her. Maybe its just me.
Good job on the picture though.
Yaotl: Well I'm trying to express an opinion and give some actual judgment on it other than "hey man, that's great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", "AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I didn't say it was bad, i said it had flaws and that it still showed great skill. So why don't you take a chill pill man. Stick around here some more and you'll see how annoying it is when people never say anything expect one word replys. I don't just 'jump' to each thread saying negative things, i post when it is needed and others don't have the courage to step up and say it.
Dustin: The difference between looking at nude and drawing it is very different than laying an image underneath your Photoshop canvas and drawing. I will not jump to conclusions and say that is what happened (because it doesn't look like that in this case) but it has happened many other times in the 2d forum. To me that is a poor practice, beause if i traced over a Disney character i would get in trouble.
