Hey everyone, I have a gun UV'd in maya but I have no clue how to go about texturing it. Any tips on that, Im going for shiny chrome/metalic. Thanks in advance.

Simple tutorial of texturing various metal elements. If you plan out your details, most of the gun texturing should be soft gradients and painting in various highlights and shadows. Page 6 has a sheet of highly reflective tubes which you can blend into the barrel to create a fake set of highlights.

You should also be very careful of the general hue of the metal. Different types of metals have different types of colors and sometimes highlights. Make sure you go over several references of different types of metals to get an idea of how it should look overall.
