Here's the normal mapped model. I've got to do some color mockups before I dive into the diffuse map. I'll post those once I've done them. Initially I was wondering how I was going to incorporate the logo into the overall design but It actually works pretty nicely when I place it over the artifact. It flows with the shape of the weapon. You'll see when I post it. For now enjoy:

Continuing to texture. I haven't touched the artifact other than lay out base colors. Continuing to hit the normal, diffuse, and spec map. I'm using a combination of polypainting in zbrush, using custom alphas to create color details here and there. Using zproject to transfer color info from the original high poly model to the game res model. Zbrush is a pretty cool program. A friend of mine commented that the character had some insect like features. Yeah he does it seems. Particularly the head. Anyway here's the progress so far.

haha Thanks for the comment. I see chiakar from Babylon Spance 9. The more I look at it I see a grasshopper. I Haver touched the Artifact yet, Hey Thanksk for checking out my images. All comments are really appreciated.

wow you're really moving along on this! the textures on his legs are really cool... the artifact textures need...... something... i don't know what

I had a plan to have an the cgsociety logo alpha overlayed over the artifact, on a seperate poly, but it didn't work visually. I placed the logo on his stomach. It's kind of subtle right now. I'm going to see if I can't work some of the elements of the logo onto the texture as well. But I'm not wanting to have the graphic design elements overpower the the artifact.
