Hi
I need to have a set of sandbags in this scene. I am very bad at modelling so I was wondering whether anyone could help. I have a box with 5,5,5 segments. Can anyone help me from here. What modifiers do I use?

Thanks

u should use FFD BOX 4x4x4
it's easy - move control points for making needed form

better made it using Editable Poly

I assume you are using max since you talk about modifiers. Don't overlook the tutorials that come with max, they cover the basic techniques and modifiers that you can use to accomplish this. That being said there are different approaches you could take.

Try using FFD to shape your box.

If you need more detail then turbosmooth and add some noise. Then try a volume select modifier, grab the verts on the top of the bag and add some more noise to make wrinkles where the bags are tied up.

Also you could go with edit poly and tweak your verticies and use the paint deformation tool to add creases where the bag is tied up at the top, just make sure you have enough detail in your mesh to do this.

Edit: Looks like Dgeckie beat me to it. :)

Hi
Ok it seems to be taking shape. I copied it and I was wondering whether I should use Reactor in order to get a realistic look in terms of the bags laying on top of each other. would I use soft body? I added the SoftBody modifer and then added the bags to the SoftBody. What kind of settings would I use? Every time I preview they seem to kind of implode.

Thanks
