Name: Kris Eggleston
Country: Canada
Software: Photoshop

Hi,
A piece that I completed in my spare time....at work. Hope the boss isn't reading this, lol.
I wanted to work on improving how I render specular light with this piece. I also tried to create a more detailed backdrop than I'm used to without loosing the character in it. I would have liked to have achieve more with the fire but I had difficulties with it. Something to work on:)
Hope you enjoy.Comments and Crits are welcome.

Thanks,
Kris.

Awesome looking! The demon chick looks good.

crit: like you mentioned, the fire needs some attention. I think it would help if you added some very bright yellows/whites into the fire to make the actual fire stand out from the reflection-highlights on the girl.

I agree, the fire need some hot, bright coloures.

Very, very good piece of graphic. Corngratulations.

Awesome piece, your best yet in my opinion. If you dont mind, I did a quick paint over even though the image is just fine as is. Great lighting by the way on the chest area, not to sound sexest, but I think that part is where you handeld the lighting best.

I just wanted to do the repaint for you cause I noticed a lot of oppurtunities to use some great glow effects with the color dodge setting. Also try to keep in mind that all forms that turn up in this picture will recieve that blue light, unless obscured by another object. Also, i thought it might be a little more dynamic with glowing eyes....cheezy I know, but usually makes anything look badass. Also I would reccomend using the sharpen tool in a couple areas. The thing I find that digital has a problem with is crisp edges. The sharpen tool is a great way to crisp things up a bit.

Anyway, i hope you dont mind, and great piece.

FRENZIEDmind, wuwejo: Thanks for the feedback guys. And yes, I can see now that some hot yellows would have really helped the fire. Not sure exactly why I was avoiding those colors while working on this, really simple things can seem complicated sometimes while you're working away on something.

Gooberman: Thanks for the comments and for taking the time to do the paint over. Fire looks better with the yellows and pumping up the glow effects on her from the fire underneath looks good as well. As for glowing eyes, she had actually started out with glowing eyes, I removed them in favor of black eyes at about the half way mark, could have gone either way on that one. I'll also try using the sharpen tool in the future, thanks for the tips!

I think your boss doesn't mind. He may think "wow, I've got some talented employee".

Good architecture, I thought the fire was perfect, (never saw a woman in the fire before) untill I saw goombaman comment. He has a good point, but you saw that to. Anyway, very good color combination. This picture makes me curious to the rest of your portfolio. One thing of critic I can think of is : why big boobs (but that is personal ;))

Peraiia: Thanks! I appreciate the comments. As for the big boobs, guess they are a bit exagerated, eh? Probably tone things like that down in the future.

Orbits: Thanks!
