View Full Version : GI pass - Mental Ray - 3dsMax

I've been following Jeremy Birn's Digital Lighting and rendering book with success so far, but I can't figure out how to do a GI render pass with mental ray using 3ds MAX (for compositing later in photoshop). I've tried searching this forum so apologies if this has been answered before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Gordon,

If you check under 'render elements' you will find that
you can add both direct and Indirect (GI) elements.

Thanks so much for your help. Found it under the "lighting" render element...at last :thumbsup:
Which ofcourse is painfully obvious now!
