View Full Version : Bump problem - Please help !
tagore3d 02-20-2008, 05:18 AM Hi guys !
Please look at these attached jpgs.
I had created a bump for the tiles in photoshop .I had used round brush ( 3 pix size ), and painted those horizantal and vertical lines.
But ...while rendering , the vertical lines are bold and the horizantal lines are thin.
Why is this happenning. ? how can I get bump with equal thickness. ?

looking at your picture i think its just forshortening due to the viewing angle/light - go look at real bricks.
or
your texture map is say 512x512 and being squished as your planar UV map isn't square so lines in one plane are thinner

Hey dude, thanks 4 tht. I think its due to the squashed UV map, I'll chk tht.I never thought about this.
probably this must work, if I giv a square-ish uv map.

I looked at youtr bump source, it looks exactly like the bump is drwn. Look closely and you can see some of the horizontal lines are actually thinner then the vertical lines. Try using a 4pt brush in photoshop for the horizontal.
