help with?

Rubber hose on horses knee.

This method of boning vs. classic bone chains.

Smooth transitions between weight maps. Ie. the horses neck is broken up into three maps. It doesnt get a smooth natural bend.
It breaks up into three harsh, destinct sections.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know you're all very very busy.

When creating the weight maps, do you use vertex paint?
If so, set the falloff type to a lesser value (inverse distance^8) or so.

You could also use the same weightmap for all bones controlling the horses neck which gives a much smoother result. Just make sure not to use 'use weight map only'

When I do characters I only divide a humanoid into 10 weightmaps.
Body, head, r/l arm, r/l leg, r/l foot and r/l hand.
