This is my first post here, I'm a 16-year-old from the US who's been into Lightwave on and off since Lightwave 6.0...I was really into CG at first, but over the past year I've been spending so much time on guitar and my band that I've stopped using it unless I get an idea for an image.
This morning I woke up with this idea in my head, and I after long hours of working on those damn textures and rendering, here it is. It's an abstract called "The End of the Glass Eyes" what its meant to be is an image of enterinty, I hope it gets the message through.
The eyes were modeled using a technique from an old copy of Inside Lightwave 6.5 by Dan Ablan(sp?), the textures were the longest part, I read through many tutorials on the net and used many references, but almost every part of the textures was painted in Photoshop 7. (I painted the one on the right first, then heavily modified it for the one on the left and made spec and bump maps for each)
The water droplet type things were made using meta-nurbs and then freezing them, then cutting them in half, then subd, I still don't think I got the surface right, but it'll do for now.
The whole thing was rendered using radiosity and HDRI, I know its a very simple image but I'm fairly pleased with it.

(If the image doesn't load, drag the address into the address bar)
This probably isn't the last version I'll do, but I figured I'd share it with you guys.
