I am enjoying your idea, i think its pretty unique. Are you going for more of like a stargate native or more like the jaffa armor frome the movie/series.
Heres some armor pics i found on the net. thought it might help you decide your thumbnails. If i went a little overboard sorry. i just like the idea :P Hope to see more.

I finish the basemesh to work on zbrush.

Now i´m sculpting a high poly model on zbrush.
I´m looking for a solution to do the hair, choosing between planes with textures or 3d.

Looking great so far - just one suggestion: I might thicken the neck at the base where it connects to the back of the head just a bit to add some bulkiness - other than that looking fantastic, keep up the good work!

Now I´m doing some objects and clothes, later I´ll back to the body details, and anatomy adjusts too.

Is being really hard to reconcile university, work and free-time to develop the character.
This week i´m starting the lowpoly model. The last week, I hope I´m doing texturing.
