DWIII - 3D - Happy Cookie - Plathan, Thunder Fists Incarnate

First update, not much, a sketch with a pose and the silhouette of the guy, with no equipment for now. I'll paint it over and will use this drawing as my base. He will not walk, but float in the air, he might even lose his legs under his knees, replaced by some kind of lightning vortex touching the ground.

First paintover, added armor with the stones, nothing accurate, just to experiment with the thunder stones embedded in the armor.

Second one, went for less armor and more cloth here (inspiration from TQ, Iron Lore). Bigger gauntlets too.

I like your first concept better, I dig the design of the shoulder pads and the Hellgate warrior vibe it's got! Don't let the lightning bits overshadow the armor design, at least in the concepts!
I'd like to see further concepts, keep up the good work!

You'e absolutely right about those lightning blurring and hiding everything, I got carried away and overdid it. I'm going to rework that sketch, and try a third one. Thanks for the comments.

Awesome. The electricity that surges through his body is fire! I like the armor/colors/elegance of the first one but the stance of the second one appeals to me more; seems more heroic. Don't forget the red for CGSociety's colors. Post more soon.

The fact that the electricity is flowing through is body is something I really want to show, and it'll be even more obvious in 3D, as the more power flows through, the more is flesh will be altered, creating a whole new glowing "vascular" system.

Here's a reworked version of the previous sketch. More to come soon, keep on commenting, it helps a lot.

Thanks Stacy for this choice, but I'm going to ask you again (and to all of the people stopping by my thread), which one is your favorite now ? Don't hesitate to mix elements, and to tell me which shoulderpads should be with which armor or cloth. And focus only on the armor/cloth, don't mind the gauntlets or the crown.
Here's the last update, can't come up with anything new, and some might be looking similar.

The "g" is my favorite one. The clothes are well and make a feelling of confidence and power.

I like "F" the best. The armor just has a feel to it along with the , gem? in the stomach area which coudl also add to the electrical feel of the character.

Thanks for picking guys, it's really useful, but unfortunately, there seems to be no clear winner for now, I'll wait for one or two days to see if I can get new input about the clothes/armor.
Until then, I'm working in zbrush on the basemesh I did yesterday, no time to lose. Here's what it looks like before I start sculpting (ruining ? :p) it.

@madshooter : I was planning on using planes with glow and alpha maps, but that's still a theorical stuff, I have yet to test it.

So, currently detailing the model in zbrush, still a lot of work to do and I suck at doing every back part of the body (not that I am much better at the front ones). I'm not worrying that much about the forearms and the legs below the knees, as those parts will get heavily altered by the power of the artefact. Keep the critics raining, this guy's supposed to master storm :D.

Sorry guys for not updating the thread more frequently, had lots of stuff to finish for work. But I finally had some time to work on this project again, so here are the progress on the body in Zbrush. I won't add that much more details (except on the head), as I'm going to start carving him, showing the devastating effect of the artefact he's bearing.
