The proportions for this model are off. The torso is too narrow and the waist is to high. Are you using anything for reference.. if not then get thee to fineart.sk and look at some anatomy.

i am using the joan of arc image planes for reference, and the porportions are on as far as the image goes. shoulders, brests, hips croch ect.. I'll re check, perhaps, it;s the image planes.

thanks,
Kassun

Hi!

I think your upper torso (above the waist, not looking at the arms) is just fine for now.

I think, like Ember said, that the waist is too narrow. Few women have this waist naturally, it is usually achieved with a corset, which of course doesn't work on a nude. ;) Try flattening out the curves you've cut in her sides and back, not so dramatic a shift.

The hips should ride a bit higher (I think the entire torso is too long compared to her width/depth). I also think the crotchal area should be much higher, there should be an upward slant from the bottom of the buttocks to the crotch, and the v-shaped crease should shift higher as well, and end where the hips start to curve away from the belly.

I also think her legs are too long, and the thighs are too thick, but it just looks to me like you haven't spent as much time on the legs yet.

Keep up your efforts, for a first model this is really good!

If you have a chance, post the images you are using for reference so we can see what you're working with...

Hmm.. from the front your model doe spretty much align with the Joan Ref but the view on the right still looks funny.maybe it's because it's being seen in the low poly cage mode?

Did you model it with the legs apart or straight down? The groin on the right looks so much larger than the reference picture.

I was basing my input on real-world proportions. :) Of course, the drawing is quite exagerrated.

From what I can see, the major discrepancy between the model and the drawing is the way you modeled the v-shaped peninsula above the groin and between the pelvic protrusions. Your model has a shallow-wide v, but the drawing has a definite line leading to the proper place at the very top of the hips. if you adjust this, it might make a big difference. Also, be aware that there is a protrusion of the groin between the legs, the thighs don't meet in the middle. Instead, there is a flat gap, that's not evident in the drawing.

Do you have a side-view drawing? I am still not sure about those buttocks...

Another problem might be the belly button, the drawing has a tall belly button, but I think this is really mostly the shadow that appears in between a woman's abs right there. The actual belly button is at the very bottom of the shadow, and since you put yours in the middle it makes the pelvic area seem too big.

I think the original drawing also has the belly button a bit high...

btw: your new thighs and legs look pretty good!

The breast needs to be moved over slightly .. As Jellyfish mentioned the shape of the pelivs is off and the V shape ..the line sof the pelvis are not the same as the drawing and this is making the groin look much larger. Since the proportions are exagerrated then slight imperfections look especially strange.

It's really starting to look more more natural.. the profile looks pretty good. The groin on the front view still needs some work. There needs to be more of a "mound of venus" in the groin. The line of the hips is a little rough. The breasts look like the are pointing out too much and are maybe too far apart in comparision to the reference art for Joan of Arc but they definately look more natural. The armpits and the upper arm needs more work.
