I know I saw the answer to this here, but I just can't find the post.

Just got a new Windows machine with a Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT, and it's running EOGL fine, except that every once in a while, when clicking on somthing in the viewport, there's a fleeting "explosion effect" that looks like points shooting out from the center. (Too fast to do a screen grab.)

Was it something in the Display settings that needed to be changed? I apologize for asking something already covered. I really did look for that thread.

I've got a Geoforce 7900 card, and the same explosion effect. Turning off the OpenGL made the problem go away - but that wasn't a fix. I screwed around with the OpenGL settings but only managed to make things worse.
I rolled back to an older driver, and that seems to have done the trick so far.

Glad to hear it's not just me. It isn't horrible, but it scared the heck out of me the first time. Thought I'd somehow selected the Weld tool and made a mess. ;)

Never suspected the new machine had no Quicktime on it. Good grief. All fixed now. :argh:
