View Full Version : Copied Pairs
AlvinCamidge 02-18-2008, 08:35 PM Whats the method called "Copied Pairs"? I've used "pose to pose" and "hold" methods, but what is this "new" method. My friends swear by it.

Copied pair is a method of keying block/rough animation. You insert a key for a pose and key the same values at another frame, then start a new pose. That way you'll hold that pose as long as you want and then gently go into the next pose. This is generally done with spline tangents, but someone uses linear too.
Someone preferes this method over using stepped key. Personally I'm a fan of stepped key. They give me the feeling of 2d animation.
Hope that helps

Thanks to everyone. The stepped key reference was what I needed to understand this method.:) As a matter of fact my instructor is "what I consider" a freind but I didn't read it anywhere.:)
