Please do not provide any information about the used software nor define "messy"(or even post screenshots ffs). Never ever tell anybody what you have done so far to this point.
It could end up in somebody actually helping you.

Let me reitterate what the other two guys are saying.

In order for us to guide you through this we will need to know and see:


the program you are using
screen shots of your current uv's
screen shots of the model with wireframe

Once we have these we can try to help you get in the mindset of unwrapping your model efficiently and effectively.

I have the sinking feeling that he modeled something, but hasn't touched the uvs, and as a result he is seeing the cluster**** that is uvs before they are projected/mapped. If thats the case I would suggest doing a search for uv tutorials for your specific program, and once you've got the basics down, ask for help with specific issues.

in that case, he need to go to www.3dtotal.com and the he can find the uv tutorial for max, maya, lw... and he needs to search for a wing, blender, rhino, google scketch and other programs....
