View Full Version : choosing software this fall; ?? on max..

hello,
I will be buying either LW, C4D or Max this fall and was wondering since I ran Max on my system, and when I increased the meshsmooth to 3/4 it was very slow...
I am using an Athlon XP 1700 with 512mb ram and GeForce 3 TI 64mb ram... what would speed up my system if I decide to go with Max ?

Video card for Viewports
Ram processor for Rendering

Setting your meshsmooth to 3/4 is high (for me) I usulally hang ou at 0/2, only going further for renders.

i do like LW and C4D, but max does have some poly tools that i would really want to have in those apps... so basically i like all 3 of them, it will be a tough decision... i do hate that Max takes so long to open and that educational version is $500 and the upgrade to commercial is over my head; LW and C4D full version will cost me only $800 max about $3,000.... Max is actually the first 3d app i have ever used, i used version 3 about 3 years ago for my final project
