Hello, guys at work are making me switch over to maya rather then use max. I don't care but my favorite way to model was to stay in the perspective window. In max the move manipulator handle is great and i would like to see if maya can do the same thing. This may be confusing, the guys at work don't understand me either. Simply put max's handle allows me to move in 2 directions whenever i want in the pers window. In order to do that in maya i have to move the camera lock down the handle go back to what i was looking at and then move my verts. Very unfriendly. oh also don't like going back and forth through the ortho veiws. I stay in the pers window because i like flow. If anyone can understand this and help me i would greatly appreciate it.

Hey,

If you press ctrl and click on the handle axis you dont want to move, you can then grab the handle and move it in the 2 axis you would like to move. ctrl click in the yellow box in the middle to set it back to be all 3 axis.

Hope this helps. Once you get the feel for maya, I think you will discover it has a much nicer work flow and is much more customizable to your needs as a modeler.
